How to Configure MX, SPF, and DMARC Records in HostingRaja for Tobu.ai Bulk Email
Sending bulk mailers is an effective way for recruiters, marketers, and businesses to connect with candidates and customers. Tobu.ai’s Bulk Email feature helps you send messages at scale, but your domain must first be configured correctly.
If your domain is hosted with HostingRaja, you can add the required DNS records through cPanel’s Zone Editor. These records help authenticate your emails, improve deliverability, and protect your domain from spoofing.
Why Update DNS Settings?
Correct DNS configuration helps you:
- Improve email deliverability.
- Authenticate messages sent through Tobu.ai.
- Reduce the likelihood of emails being marked as spam.
- Protect your domain from unauthorized senders.
- Meet modern email authentication requirements.
Before beginning, confirm that your domain’s nameservers point to HostingRaja. If your nameservers point to GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or another provider, you must add the records there instead.
Access DNS Management in HostingRaja
- Log in to your HostingRaja account.
- Open the hosting service connected to your domain.
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to the Domains section.
- Select Zone Editor.
- Locate your domain and click Manage.
HostingRaja also provides domain management through its Client Area. The usual path is Products & Services → Domains → select your domain → Manage. The exact options may vary depending on whether you are using shared hosting, a reseller account, VPS, or a domain-only service.
1. Add an MX Record
MX records identify the mail server responsible for receiving email for a domain or subdomain.
How to Add an MX Record in HostingRaja
- Open cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor.
- Find your domain and click Manage.
- Click + Add Record, or use the MX Record shortcut if it is available.
- Select MX as the record type.
- Enter the following details:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name/Host | tobumail |
| Priority | 10 |
| Destination | tobucloud.com |
| TTL | Default or 1 hour |
- Click Save Record.
A lower MX priority number represents a higher delivery priority. Do not remove your existing MX records unless Tobu specifically instructs you to do so. Removing the wrong MX record can interrupt normal email delivery.
If you are using an external email service instead of HostingRaja’s mail server, HostingRaja recommends configuring the account for Remote Mail Exchange so that mail is routed to the external provider.
2. Add an SPF Record
SPF records specify which servers are authorized to send email on behalf of a domain or subdomain.
How to Add an SPF Record in HostingRaja
- Remain in cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor → Manage.
- Click + Add Record.
- Select TXT as the record type.
- Enter the following details:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name/Host | tobumail |
| TXT Value | v=spf1 include:tobucloud.com -all |
| TTL | Default or 1 hour |
- Click Save Record.
Before saving, check whether an SPF record already exists for tobumail. A domain or subdomain should generally have one SPF policy rather than multiple separate SPF records. If one already exists, combine the required include mechanisms into the existing record according to Tobu’s instructions.
3. Add a DMARC Record
DMARC records tell receiving mail servers how to handle messages that fail authentication checks.
How to Add a DMARC Record in HostingRaja
- Open cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor → Manage.
- Click + Add Record.
- Select TXT as the record type.
- Enter the following details:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name/Host | _dmarc |
| TXT Value | v=DMARC1; p=none |
| TTL | Default or 1 hour |
- Click Save Record.
The p=none policy is a monitoring policy. It allows you to observe authentication results without rejecting messages. After reviewing DMARC reports and confirming that legitimate mail passes authentication, you may choose to move to a stricter policy such as quarantine or reject.
Important HostingRaja DNS Checks
Keep these points in mind before saving changes:
- Edit DNS records only where your domain’s authoritative nameservers are managed.
- Do not create duplicate SPF records.
- Check existing MX records before adding or replacing one.
- Use the exact host and value supplied by Tobu.ai.
- If the Zone Editor is unavailable, contact HostingRaja support or confirm that your plan allows DNS editing.
- DNS changes may take time to propagate. HostingRaja advises that nameserver changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
